Two Visitors, Two IDs: Who Can Visit Dutchess County Jail and What to Bring

Dutchess County Jail allows two (2) visitors per visit. That can be two adults, or one adult and one minor - but you can't exceed two visitors for that session.

Visitors under 18 can't come alone. All visitors under eighteen (18) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Bring proof of guardianship: If you’re the adult bringing a minor, be ready to show proof of guardianship (for example, a birth certificate).

Timing matters. You must be signed in thirty (30) minutes before the session starts - plan your drive and parking so you're not rushing.

Bring a government-issued photo ID. Accepted forms include a state driver's license, non-driver DMV photo ID, military ID, passport, or another state or federally issued ID card.

Expired ID exception: An expired government-issued ID may be accepted, but only with supervisor authorization.

Parking warning: Don't park in permit spaces. If you do, your visit will be suspended until further notice.
