The facility’s social-visiting schedule, updated August 6, 2026, is Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 3:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. Each visit may last no more than 30 minutes.
Confirm the current visiting hours with the facility before you travel.
Every adult visitor must present a valid, verifiable government-issued identification card to enter. A minor must be accompanied by an adult guardian who is at least 18 years old and cannot be left alone in the waiting room, visiting room or any other area.
East Hidalgo Detention Center is at 1300 E Hwy 107, La Villa, TX 78562.
All family and other social visits are non-contact. Visitors are subject to search in the facility, and anyone seeking admission may receive a pat-down, a belongings inspection and a metal scan. Refusing to cooperate with a reasonable search will prevent admission.
Firearms and weapons of any kind are prohibited in the facility. Electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers and radios are not permitted in secure areas, and visitors cannot carry items into the visitation area. You may not pass or attempt to pass anything to a detainee. Anyone who is or appears intoxicated will not be allowed to visit.
