Attorney Videoconference Hours and Scheduling Rules for East Jersey State Prison
Helping an attorney schedule a videoconference (VTC) legal visit at East Jersey State Prison? Here's what you need to know about hours, lead times, and who to contact.
NJDOC videoconferences run Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Keep the attorney's requested start time within that weekday window to avoid delays or rescheduling.
Timing tip: VTCs should start no later than 1 hour before closing whenever possible. With an 8:00 AM–4:00 PM window, that means aiming for a start time by about 3:00 PM.
VTC scheduling at East Jersey State Prison works through faxed requests. The fax must reach the facility's videoconferencing coordinator at least 48 hours before the requested day - weekends and holidays don't count. A last-minute fax on Friday afternoon won't cut it for a Monday visit.
Plan ahead: “At least 48 hours” here means excluding weekends and holidays (often described as “2 or more business days”). Build in extra time if you’re requesting a Monday or the day after a holiday.
