Setting Up a Video Teleconference for Your Loved One at East Jersey State Prison

Plan ahead. Videoconference requests (and any supporting documents) must be faxed at least 48 hours before your requested day - weekends and holidays don't count. That means two business days minimum. If you're scheduling right after a holiday weekend, give yourself extra time.

EJSP videoconferences run Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM - the standard NJDOC operational window. Request a time outside those hours and you'll need to pick a different slot.

Conferences won't be scheduled to end after 4:00 PM. Need time beyond normal hours? That requires advance agreement from both sides - don't assume you can run over at the end of the day.

Once your faxed request arrives, the facility's videoconferencing staff checks the schedule for your requested day. This is why lead time matters - last-minute requests are harder to fit in. Don't count weekends or holidays when calculating your 48-hour window.
