How to send messages, photos, and packages
East Jersey State Prison holds videoconferences (VTCs) Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Sessions aren't scheduled to end after 4:00 PM, and VTCs aren't available on weekends or holidays. To request one, fax your request and supporting documents to the facility VTC coordinator at least 48 hours (two or more business days) before your requested date—weekends and holidays don't count. On the day of the conference, the videoconferencing post officer makes sure the inmate reaches the VTC waiting area at least ten minutes early. Inmates attend alone in sound-dampened booths. State-sentenced inmates must be advised about confidentiality and sign an Inmate Consent Form; video-link communications are treated as privileged and confidential. No third person can be present unless authorized by the inmate and their attorney or the court officer. Inmates can't send facsimiles to other agencies.
