Setting Up Video Visits Through Smart Communications for East Mesa

Video visits at East Mesa are available seven days a week - helpful if you're juggling a work schedule, childcare, or coordinating across time zones.

Each video visit lasts 30 minutes. Have a few topics ready so you're not spending half the call figuring out what to talk about.

The person you're visiting can have two video visits per week. If multiple family members want time, coordinate ahead so no one accidentally uses up the weekly limit.

Before booking anything, you need a Smart Communications user account (SmartInmate). East Mesa uses this system for all video visits, and scheduling isn't available until you're registered.

Head to the SmartInmate/Smart Communications portal and follow the prompts to create your profile. Once your account is active, you can browse available times and reserve a slot.

East Mesa requires video visits to be reserved one day in advance. No same-day bookings - if you want to visit today, you'll need to pick a time for tomorrow or later.

Appointments are first-come, first-served. If the times you want are gone, don't worry - you didn't do anything wrong. Slots just fill up fast.
