Sending Money to Someone at Eastham Unit: Who Can Deposit and How to Do It
You can't deposit money just because you know someone at Eastham Unit. Since September 1, 2020, TDCJ only accepts trust fund deposits from people on the inmate's approved visitor list or Inmate Telephone List. Not on either list? Your deposit will be rejected. Check your status before sending anything.
Warning: Don’t send trust fund deposits to the inmate’s unit (facility of assignment). Deposits have to go through the Inmate Trust Fund deposit process instead.
For a quick, remote option, TDCJ accepts online deposits through Access Corrections. Head to www.AccessCorrections.com and follow the prompts to send funds.
Prefer to call? Access Corrections has bilingual agents available 24/7 at 1-866-345-1884 (toll-free). They'll walk you through a secure deposit over the phone.
Note: Access Corrections deposits are a vendor service, and service fees may apply whether you deposit online or by phone.
- Get a deposit slip - Ask the offender for deposit slips, or request one by mailing a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 60, Huntsville, TX 77342-0060.
- Fill out the slip and prepare your deposit - Complete the deposit slip and get a money order or cashier’s check.
- Mail everything to the Inmate Trust Fund - Send the completed deposit slip with the money order/cashier’s check to: Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 60, Huntsville, TX 77342-0060.
Reminder: Don’t mail deposits to the Eastham Unit’s address. Use the Inmate Trust Fund mailing process (deposit slip + money order/cashier’s check) so your deposit goes to the right place.
Practical Tips Visitors
- ✓ Confirm you’re on the inmate’s approved visitor list or on the Inmate Telephone List before you try to deposit money.
- ✓ Confirm the inmate is assigned to Eastham Unit before you travel for any visitation-related errand.
- ✓ Call the unit for final confirmation before you head out, since visitation information is updated and can change.
Not sure if you're eligible to deposit? Call the unit before you start. TDCJ updates visitation information regularly, and a quick phone call can save you time - or a wasted trip if you're combining this with a visit.
