How to Submit Your Visitor Application for Eddie Warrior Correctional Center (EWCC)

Visiting someone at Eddie Warrior Correctional Center (EWCC) requires approval first. Here's how the visitor application process works, where to mail your form, and what to expect while ODOC runs the background check.

Everyone who wants to visit EWCC must submit a Visitor Application Form first. Show up without approval and you'll be turned away. Submit your application as early as possible.

Visitors 18 and older go through a background check as part of approval. Once a child turns 18, they need to complete their own visitor application to continue visiting EWCC.

Note: If you’re bringing minors to EWCC, be ready to provide documentation (for example, birth certificates or court/adoption papers) to verify guardianship.

Submitting a paper application? Mail it to ODOC headquarters at this address: Oklahoma Department of Corrections Attn: Visitation Unit P.O. Box 11400 Oklahoma City, OK 73136-0400

Tip: Address the envelope to "Attn: Visitation Unit," not to the inmate. Incorrectly addressed applications can get delayed or lost.

  • Write the address as: Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Attn: Visitation Unit, P.O. Box 11400, Oklahoma City, OK 73136-0400
  • Make sure “Attn: Visitation Unit” is on the envelope (do not address the application to the inmate)
  • Mail the completed Visitor Application Form
  • If you plan to bring minors, include the documentation that verifies guardianship (for example, birth certificates or court/adoption papers)

Need to reach the facility directly? Contact EWCC at 16161 Moffat Rd., Lexington, OK 73051. Phone: 405-527-5593.

Fax: 405-698-5855.

Once ODOC receives your application, visitors 18 and older undergo a background check. This review is required before you can visit anyone housed at EWCC.

Approval can take up to eight weeks. Submit your application well before the first visit you're hoping to make.

  1. Wait for ODOC to complete the background check - background checks are required for visitors 18 and older.
  2. Watch for the inmate to be notified - the inmate will be notified when the background-check process is complete.
  3. Get the visit details from the inmate - after approval, the inmate will notify you of the scheduled date and time of visitation.

Heads up: Don't mail the application to the inmate. ODOC requires it be addressed to the Visitation Unit. Wrong addressee means delays.

  • Leaving parts of the mailing address off. Use the full line: P.O. Box 11400, Oklahoma City, OK 73136-0400
  • Forgetting to address it to “Attn: Visitation Unit”
  • Planning to bring minors but not including documentation that verifies guardianship (for example, birth certificates or court/adoption papers)

Haven't heard back yet? Give it time. Approval can take up to eight weeks, and you'll typically get word through the inmate once you're approved.

Questions about where to send your application? Use ODOC's Visitation Unit mailing address: Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Attn: Visitation Unit, P.O. Box 11400, Oklahoma City, OK 73136-0400. For facility-level questions, call EWCC at 405-527-5593 or fax 405-698-5855.
