Before your first in-person visit to Eden: what to bring, ID rules, and how to leave money
Your first visit can feel overwhelming. This checklist covers ID requirements, what you might be able to drop off, and how to leave money for a detainee at Eden—plus what to confirm before you head out.
Call Eden Detention Center at (325) 869-2704 before you go. Confirm the current visiting hours and ask about any rules in effect that day. On the phone menu, press 2 for in-person visitation info or 3 for legal visitation. This line is available 24 hours a day - you can also use it to check whether someone is currently housed at Eden.
Bring a valid, state- or government-issued photo ID. Eden verifies every visitor's identity at check-in, and no adult gets in without proper identification. Not sure if your ID will work? Call ahead before making the trip.

- ✓ Prescription glasses
- ✓ Religious items

Eden allows you to leave money for deposit into a detainee's account. Call before your visit to ask exactly how they handle deposits at the front desk - whether there are limits, what forms of payment they accept, or any special instructions. Then follow staff directions when you arrive.
Keep your receipt: When you leave money or property for a detainee, you should get a receipt - unless the item is handed directly to them.
