How Virtual Attorney Visits Work at Eden Detention Center

Eden Detention Center offers Virtual Attorney Visitation (VAV) through Zoom as an alternative to in-person meetings. It's designed for situations when traveling to the facility isn't practical - a convenience option, not a replacement for face-to-face attorney-client meetings.

Note: Attorney-client VAV sessions are confidential and are not subject to auditory supervision.

Who May Participate

  • Legal representatives
  • Legal assistants
  • Interpreters
  • Family and friends are not permitted to participate

Before your scheduled VAV meeting, you'll need to present appropriate identification - typically a bar card from any state or other documentation proving bar membership.

Eden provides a private consultation room for these meetings. Staff won't be present in the confidential area during your session unless you specifically request an officer.

To schedule a VAV appointment, email edenattorneyappointments@corecivic.com or call (325) 869-2704. These same contacts can answer any questions about the process.

Need to confirm whether someone is currently housed at Eden? Call (325) 869-2704 - the line is available 24 hours a day.

Legal visitation runs seven days a week, including holidays. On regular business days, expect at least eight hours of availability. Weekends and holidays offer a minimum of four hours.

Warning: Do not audio- or video-record any virtual or in-person visit, or any call, with a detainee at Eden. Violations can lead to suspension or permanent revocation of VAV privileges.

VAV sessions are treated as confidential legal communications. Visits between legal service providers (including legal assistants) and a detainee are not subject to auditory supervision.

Practical Steps

  • Have your bar card (or other proof of bar membership) ready before the scheduled VAV session
  • Schedule (and ask questions) by emailing edenattorneyappointments@corecivic.com or calling (325) 869-2704
  • If you’ll need an interpreter on the session, plan for that when you set the appointment
