Setting Up Video Visits at Placerville Jail: From NCIC Account to Your First Call

Placerville Jail runs video visits through NCIC Inmate Communications. Start by creating a visitor account on the NCIC video visit site, then schedule your visit from there. All video visits must be scheduled in advance. El Dorado County has expanded the video visitation calendar - visits can be available seven days a week between 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM. You'll notice some gaps when picking a time; certain blocks are excluded so the jail can handle medical and dietary needs.

Each inmate gets one free video visit per week through NCIC. After that, visits cost $0.20 per minute. If multiple family members want to connect during the same week, decide ahead of time who uses the free visit. It makes budgeting easier.

Every video visit at Placerville Jail is recorded and may be monitored by El Dorado County Sheriff's Office personnel. By using the system, you're consenting to that. Treat the call like someone is watching the whole time.

The Sheriff's Office can cancel or end a video visit - before it starts or mid-call - if there's misconduct by you or the inmate. Repeated issues can get you restricted from future visits entirely. Follow the rules every time.
