Elayn Hunt Correctional Center — visiting days, times, and how to schedule
Visiting someone at Elayn Hunt is straightforward once you know the schedule and who to call. Here's what you need: current visiting days and hours, plus how to confirm your visit before making the trip.
Elayn Hunt Correctional Center offers in-person visitation seven days a week, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Traveling from out of town? Call ahead to confirm details - especially if your loved one's status might affect their visitation eligibility.
To schedule a visit or ask questions, call the Visitation Department Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. That's your best window to reach the right staff and get a clear answer before you show up.

- Have your person’s identifying info ready - Before you call, write down what you have (for example, their DPS&C number, or their full name and date of birth) so the staff member can help you faster.
- Ask whether the person is eligible to visit right now - One common issue is intake status. Offenders in intake status are not allowed visitation, unless a special visit is authorized under reception center procedures.
- Confirm approved-visitor-list expectations - You must be on the imprisoned person’s approved visiting list to visit. If you’re not sure whether you’re approved, you’ll need to ask the imprisoned person directly; the facility will not provide that information over the phone.
- Confirm the visit details you’re trying to set up - Once eligibility is clear, ask the Visitation Department to confirm the visit day and time you should plan around, and anything you should know before you arrive.
- Ask if anything changes the type of visit you’ll have - Contact visitation requires both the visitor and the inmate to be fully vaccinated. If either party is unvaccinated, non-contact visits (with plexiglass separation) are required.
Note: Visitation can be suspended immediately if active COVID-19 cases exceed 0.5% of the facility's population. It stays suspended until the rate drops below 0.5%. Contact vs. non-contact visits may also depend on vaccination status - confirm the current setup before you travel.
