Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center offers free video calls through Ameelio Connect. Parents, legal guardians, and other approved contacts can use the service—but you'll need to register for an Ameelio account and get approved first.
ECJDC provides free video calls through Ameelio Connect. You can use it if you're a parent, legal guardian, or another approved contact. Before any calls can happen, you'll need to create an Ameelio account and get approved.
Setting up your Ameelio Connect account for ECJDC requires a government-issued photo ID. A driver's license or passport works fine - just make sure you can photograph it clearly during setup.
Note: Only visitation staff will have access to the ID documents you submit for ECJDC.
- Tap “Request Contact” - this is how you add your child in the app after your ID photos are submitted.
- Select “Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center” - make sure you choose the correct facility.
- Enter the unique ID number from ECJDC staff - use the ID number you were given so your request matches the right child.
ECJDC visitation staff will review your documents as part of the approval process. Once approved, you can start video calls with your child through the app.
