From that point on, all calls are collect and only available during set hours.

Note: During booking, inmates can make free local calls from the booking phone. If you’re waiting for that first call, it usually happens in this early window.

Once someone moves into population at Ellis County Jail, collect calls are only allowed during specific windows. Weekdays: 10:00 A.M. to 10:30 P.M. Weekends run later - 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. If you're trying to catch a call, keep your phone close and ringer on during those hours.
