What You Need to Know Before Sending a Food Package to a Georgia Prison (Union Supply checklist)

The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) uses Union Supply for approved food packages at GDC State Prisons, Integrated Treatment Facilities (ITFs), and Probation Detention Centers. Before ordering, confirm where your loved one is housed. One major exception: Riverbend Private Prison still uses Access Securepak instead of Union Supply until further notice.

You can place a Union Supply order a few different ways. By mail, send your order to: Union Supply, 2500 Regent Blvd Dept. 421, P.O. Box 619059, Dallas, TX 75261-9059. Prefer to call? Dial 1-562-361-5719 or the toll-free line at 1-855-247-0563. Fax orders go to 1-310-603-1188. Whichever method you choose, keep a copy of what you submitted - you'll want it if questions come up later.

Quick phone ordering: Call 1-562-361-5719, or call toll-free at 1-855-247-0563.

GDC sets both a spending limit and a weight limit - your order has to stay under whichever you hit first. For State Prisons and ITFs, the cap is $100 per offender or 15 lbs. per package. For Probation Detention Centers, it's $50 per offender or 7 lbs. per package. If your cart is under the dollar limit but over the weight (or the other way around), the first limit you reach is the one that applies.

When multiple people order for the same offender, Union Supply combines those orders into one package. That combined package still can't exceed the spending or weight limits. Coordinate with other family members before anyone places a separate order - otherwise someone's items may get cut.

Every Union Supply order includes a $2.95 shipping and handling charge, and that fee is non-refundable. Watch the deadlines too - orders received after the cutoff won't be accepted. Don't wait until the last minute, especially if you're mailing or faxing.
