How to Send Money to an Inmate at Erie County Holding Center (cashier, mail, online)

If you need to put money on someone's account at the Erie County Holding Center, you have three main options: deposit in person at the cashier window, mail a money order to the lockbox, or send funds online. The best choice depends on how quickly you need the money to post and what's easiest for you to get right the first time.

When mailing a money order for an inmate deposit, make it payable to "ACCESS SECURE DEPOSITS." A different payee name can slow things down or get the deposit rejected entirely.

Always include the money order deposit slip with your money order. The deposit slip MUST be included for the funds to process. Without it, expect delays.

Mail the detached deposit slip along with the money order to: Secure Deposits - Erie County, P.O. Box 12486, St. Louis, MO 63132.

  • Do not send cash with mailed deposits.
  • Do not staple, paper clip, or tape the money order to the deposit slip.

Mailed money orders must be issued in U.S. funds (U.S. dollars).

Keep in mind there's a daily cap on money order deposits. The total deposited by money order in a single day cannot exceed $2,900.00.

Need the funds to post faster? AccessCorrections (AccessSecureDeposits) is listed as an online deposit option, with fees advertised as low as $6.00.

Need help with a deposit? For deposit inquiries, the Erie County Sheriff's Office is located at 10 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, New York 14202. If you're mailing a money order, remember: the deposit slip MUST be included to avoid delays.
