Escambia County Jail Visitation Rules: What Gets You Suspended (and for How Long)

The Shift OIC/AOIC (shift supervisor) can suspend your visitation privileges for up to 14 days. Anything longer requires approval from a Commander or Captain. Short suspensions stay at the shift level; extended restrictions go up the chain.

Special visit requests don't get approved at the front desk. Only the Division Commander/Manager (or their designee) can authorize them, so expect the decision to come from leadership.

The jail classifies some problems as "Category One" violations - minor infractions that typically result in losing visitation for up to one day. Don't let the word "minor" fool you. One mistake can still cost you the visit you planned.

2. Request the reason and the timeframe - suspensions are documented in the visitation software with the reason and the initial suspension length.
3. Confirm who authorized the suspension - the Shift OIC/AOIC can suspend up to 14 days; anything longer should be approved by a Commander or Captain.
4. If your visit was cut short, plan around the loss of time - when a visit is terminated, the rest of that visit time is forfeited.
