For non-emergency help through the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, use the 24-hour non-emergency number: 256-546-2825.

Administrative matters are best handled during office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. The detention center is located at 827 Forrest Avenue, Gadsden, AL 35901.

Need to confirm someone is in custody? Start with booking at 256-549-5408. This is the fastest way to get inmate or detainee information. If you can't stay on hold or you're at work, email works too. Send booking inquiries to booking@etowahcounty.org.

Call 256-546-2825 for non-emergency situations that need a law-enforcement response but aren't urgent or life-threatening. This line is staffed 24 hours. For true emergencies, call 911.

General administrative questions, paperwork, or anything handled by office staff? Call during business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. If you need to visit in person, those same hours are your best bet.
