How to Register for Visits at Evans Correctional Institution (Starting June 1, 2025)

Starting June 1, 2025, adults 18 or older with a valid South Carolina driver's license can register online. If that's you, this is the fastest way to get your name approved and move on to scheduling a visit.

Don't have online access? You still have options. All minor children must use the paper application, and you'll need documentation proving the child's relationship to the incarcerated person. Paper applications also work for adults without a South Carolina ID or those with an out-of-state driver's license.

• ✓ Adults without a South Carolina ID/driver’s license (for example, someone using a passport or U.S. visa): paper application accepted
• ✓ Adults with an out-of-state driver’s license: paper application accepted

Submitting an application is just the first step. Before you can schedule a visit, you need to be on the inmate's approved visitation list and register on the SCDC/GTL scheduling website.

Approval can take time. Each inmate is limited to 15 approved visitors on their list. The process usually starts with your loved one - SCDC gives inmates "Request for Visiting Privileges" forms (SCDC Form 19-127) to send to prospective visitors, so they may need to mail you one to get things moving.
