Legal Visits and Attorneys at FDC SeaTac: Hours, ID, and Electronic Device Rules
Legal visits at FDC SeaTac run on a different schedule than regular social visits, and the entry process is built around attorney access while still maintaining facility security. Here are the published legal visiting hours, plus the ID, check-in, and electronic device rules that catch people off guard when they show up unprepared.
FDC SeaTac handles legal visits separately from social visits. They have their own published hours and a specific check-in process. The setup is designed so attorneys can meet with clients in a controlled, confidential setting while the facility keeps its standard security procedures in place.

FDC SeaTac does allow attorneys to bring certain electronics into legal visits, but only after signing the Federal Detention Center SeaTac Electronic Devices Agreement. Once that agreement is on file, you can bring a personal laptop, notebook, and/or iPad, along with an external memory device.
Note: Power cords for attorney electronic devices cannot exceed 6 feet in length.
Minister of Record visits start with the inmate. The inmate needs to submit a written request to the Chaplain asking for a Minister of Record visit.
Good news: an approved Minister of Record does not count against the inmate's authorized visitor total. Each inmate is limited to one Minister of Record.
These visits take place in the visiting room during scheduled social visiting hours, not during the separate legal visiting schedule.
