Remote video visits let you connect from home on your own computer. You'll need a Smart Jail Mail account before you can book. Sessions come in 15-minute or 30-minute blocks at $0.25 per minute - that's $3.75 for 15 minutes or $7.50 for 30.

On-site video visits are free. Each session runs 30 minutes, and you're allowed up to four per week. The count resets every Saturday, so plan accordingly if you want to spread visits out.

There's also Video on Demand, which the inmate initiates. When a call comes through, you have just three minutes to answer - miss that window and the session won't connect.
