What to Wear (and NOT to Wear) When Visiting Florida State Prison
To get into visitation at Florida State Prison, you must be wearing a shirt. If you show up without one (or with something that doesn’t count as a proper shirt), you can be denied entry at the gate.
Shoes are required for all visitors. Wear something that stays on securely - nothing with parts that can detach during screening.
Prohibited footwear: Heelys (shoes with wheels) aren’t allowed, and neither is any footwear with removable parts.
Florida State Prison is strict about tops. Halter tops and braless attire aren't permitted. Neither are underwear-style T-shirts, tank tops, or fishnet shirts. See-through fabric and skin-tight clothing are also off-limits - for both male and female visitors.
Dresses, skirts, and Bermuda-length shorts must fall no more than three inches above the knee. If you're debating between two options, go with knee-length or longer.
Skip the camouflage. Florida State Prison prohibits jungle (green), urban (grey/black), and desert (tan/brown) camo patterns to avoid confusion with staff uniforms.
