What You Can and Can't Wear or Bring to Visit at Florida Women's Reception Center

If you're 16 or older, bring a valid photo ID - just one is all you need to enter the visiting area at Florida Women's Reception Center.

The dress code is strictly enforced, and the basics are non-negotiable: you must wear a shirt and shoes to visit.

Footwear warning: Heelys aren’t allowed, and neither is any footwear with removable parts.

  • Halter tops or other braless attire
  • Underwear-type tee shirts
  • Tank tops
  • Fish net shirts
  • See-through fabric
  • Skin-tight clothing
  • Short skirts/shorts that are more than 3 inches above the knee
  • Military-style camouflage clothing (jungle/green, urban/grey-black, or desert/tan-brown)

Keep it simple with keys: you can bring one vehicle key. Keyless entry devices are only allowed if the duty warden (or designee) personally inspects it, confirms it's your only way to access your vehicle, and determines it doesn't pose a security threat.

You can bring limited feminine hygiene products into the facility. Keep it to what you actually need for the visit.

Important: Under no circumstances are department staff allowed to hold or store an item for a visitor.

Want to use the vending machines? You can bring up to $50 in cash per visitor, regardless of age. Stick to $1, $5, $10, or $20 bills only. Everything you buy must be consumed in the visiting area - and you cannot give money to an inmate.
