Picking Up Property (or a Firearm) from Forsyth County Property & Evidence: Hours, Appointments, and What to Bring

Forsyth County Property & Evidence room hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. On Friday, hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Schedule an appointment before you go. The unit handles a high volume of releases, and walk-ins can mean long waits. Try to give at least 24 hours notice so staff have time to pull your items.

1. Call to schedule your firearm pickup appointment. To pick up a firearm, you must call 678-513-5895 to set the appointment.

Firearm releases require an extra screening step. Forsyth County will run a criminal history check, so you'll need to provide your full legal name, a valid government-issued ID, your date of birth, your Social Security number, and your citizenship status.
