Sending Money to an Inmate at Forsyth County Jail: Kiosk, Online, and Commissary Rules
Helping someone at Forsyth County Jail with commissary? There are a couple of approved ways to add funds, plus some ordering limits that can trip people up. Here's what you need to know.
You can add money to an inmate’s commissary account in person using the kiosk located in the jail lobby. The lobby kiosk accepts cash deposits, credit cards, and debit cards, which is helpful if you want to handle everything on-site.
You can also add money online through Jail ATM. Go to the Jail ATM website, click "send money now," and follow the prompts. First-time users will need to create an account before sending funds.
For commissary items and care packages, Forsyth County Jail only accepts orders placed through the Jail ATM website. Outside packages from other vendors won't be delivered. If you want your order to actually reach your loved one, Jail ATM is the only option.
Care packages are limited to one per week per inmate. If someone else already sent one this week, yours won't go through.
Commissary orders also have a dollar cap set by the Jail Administrator. The limit can change, so check with the housing deputy before placing an order if you're unsure.
Tip: If an order gets rejected, it’s often because of timing or limits. Confirm you’re within the one-care-package-per-week rule and verify the current dollar limit with the housing deputy before you submit.
