Once you submit a Relationship Request in the TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler, your request goes through a brief review before you can book a visit.
Your Relationship Request doesn't get approved instantly by the website. Instead, it's sent to the inmate's unit of assignment, where TDCJ staff verify the relationship. That verification step is what turns your request into an approved connection you can actually use for scheduling.
Right after you submit, expect your request to sit in a waiting state. You'll see it on your visitor home page under

If your request stays pending and you're not sure why, contact the inmate's unit of assignment directly - that's where the request goes for verification. Also watch what appears next to the inmate's name once a relationship is confirmed. Sometimes the Schedule Visit button is blank or replaced with
