How to Send Money to Someone at Fountain Correctional Center: 4 Ways
Getting money into someone's account shouldn't be a guessing game. Fountain Correctional Center (Alabama DOC) accepts four deposit methods—two electronic options, a walk-in cash option, and mail-in money orders.
Alabama DOC lists four ways to add funds at Fountain Correctional Center: deposit online through Access Corrections, deposit by phone through Access Corrections, pay cash at a CashPayToday walk-in location, or mail a money order with a deposit coupon (Money Order Deposit Form). Need funds to arrive quickly? Online, phone, and walk-in options are your fastest bets. Mailing a money order works too - it just takes longer since it has to travel and be processed after arrival.
Note: Online/phone deposits through Access Corrections and cash walk-in deposits through CashPayToday are the faster options. Fees vary by method and deposit amount.
- Use Access Corrections online - Go to accesscorrections.com and set up your account, then enter the person’s details and follow the prompts to make a deposit.
- Or deposit by phone - Call (866) 345-1884 and provide the required information to complete a deposit by phone.
Before you hit
Prefer to pay with cash? CashPayToday is the walk-in option Alabama DOC lists for deposits. Register through CashPayToday first, then follow their instructions to make a cash payment at a participating retail location.
Walk-in deposits cost a flat $3.95. That makes them one of the more predictable options - especially compared to phone deposits, where fees climb with larger amounts.
- Get the deposit coupon (Money Order Deposit Form) - You’ll need the coupon to process a mail-in deposit.
- Fill out the form completely - The form is meant to be detached and mailed in with your payment.
- Prepare your money order - Make the money order payable to Access Corrections.
- Mail the money order and coupon together - Send both to: Secure Deposits - Alabama DOC, PO Box 12486, St. Louis, MO 63132.
- ✓ Daily limit for mail-in money order deposits: $900.00
- ✓ Do not include cash, letters, stamps, photos, or notes with your money order deposit
- ✓ Do not staple, paper clip, fold, or tape the money order/check to the Money Order Deposit Form
Already visiting the facility? You can request a deposit coupon while you're there. Use it to mail a money order later, or follow the vendor's walk-in process if you'd rather pay cash.
Fees vary by method. Access Secure Deposits charges $2.95 to $7.95 online and $3.95 to $9.95 by phone (based on the amount). Walk-in retail deposits are $3.95. Money orders mailed in have no processing charge.
Mailed money orders have a daily deposit limit of $900.00. If a money order or check gets returned, you'll be charged a $25 handling fee - so double-check the form and payment before dropping it in the mail.
