Bringing a Child to Visit at Four Mile: Minor Visitor Rules and Checklist
Bringing a child to visit at Four Mile is doable — but the paperwork needs to be right. Follow the rules and checklist below so your minor visitor gets approved and you don't get turned away at check-in.
At Four Mile Correctional Center (FMCC), minor children must be named on the Visitor Application. Good news: minors don't count toward the twelve (12) approved visitors, so listing your child won't use up a spot on your list.
When you submit the visiting application, include a copy of a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. Pay attention to the address: the address on your ID must match the address on the visiting application, or the application may be denied.
Form 300-01F is required when the adult bringing the child isn't the child's parent or legal guardian. In that case, the parent or legal guardian must complete Form 300-01F (Authorization for Minor Child Visitation) and submit it according to the facility's visiting instructions.
Bringing your own child? You still need to list the minor on your visiting application. Include a copy of the child's birth certificate or an adoption/guardianship order.
Documents to Bring
- ✓ A copy of your valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID (and make sure the address on the ID matches the address on the visiting application)
- ✓ A copy of the minor’s birth certificate, or an adoption/guardianship order (as required when the parent/guardian is the one bringing the child)
Visitor applications for FMCC are available on the Colorado DOC Visiting Applications page. Submit completed applications by email to DOC_ecc-visiting@state.co.us.
- Confirm your paperwork matches - Before you go, double-check that you submitted a copy of a valid, unexpired government photo ID and that the address on that ID matches the address on the visiting application.
- Arrive for check-in at the right place and time - All FMCC visitors register at the East Canon Complex Visiting Center according to the scheduled check-in time.
- Plan for a short wait and a shuttle - After you’re processed, you’ll be seated in the south area of the Visiting Center to wait for DOC-provided transportation to FMCC.
Note: You're responsible for knowing and following Administrative Regulation 300-01. Break the visiting rules, and your visiting privileges may be terminated.
