How to Send Money to Someone at Four Mile (Vendors, Timing, and Withholding Explained)

CDOC uses three approved vendors for electronic deposits at Four Mile: JPay, Western Union, and GTL (ConnectNetwork). These are your only official options for getting money onto an inmate account.

Using Western Union's Send2Corrections? Have the basics ready before you start: the inmate's name, their account number, and the facility name.

The fastest option is sending money online with a credit or debit card through the vendor's website or app. It's quick and works well when you can't go in person.

Prefer not to use an app or website? You can call the vendor and make a deposit over the phone with a credit or debit card.

If your loved one needs the money soon, timing matters. Funds sent before 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time are typically available the next day.

Even after a deposit posts, it may not be immediately usable. Allow 2–3 days for processing before the funds are available for canteen orders.

Here's something that catches families off guard: automatic deductions. CDOC is required by law to withhold at least 20% of any deposit toward court-ordered fines, fees, restitution, and/or child support. So the full amount you send won't necessarily land in their spendable balance.

Expect service fees on top of what you're sending. Fees vary by vendor and deposit amount - GTL/ConnectNetwork specifically notes that trust deposit fees depend on how much you send.
