Visiting Franklin C.I. starts with approval: anyone 12 or older must submit a visitation application, and you shouldn't make the trip until the inmate confirms you've been approved. Be accurate on your application—false or misleading information can lead to denial, criminal charges, and permanent loss of visitation privileges. Bring a valid photo ID if you're 16 or older. Keep personal items minimal (one vehicle key, limited feminine hygiene products), and expect inspections. Dress code rules prohibit revealing clothing and shoes with removable parts. All visitors and belongings are subject to search—refuse, and your visit will be denied. You may bring up to $50 in $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills for vending, but don't give money to an inmate. Staff won't store items, and needles or syringes are strictly prohibited. Check posted weekday and weekend schedules before you go.

Phone calls at Franklin Correctional Institution go through GTL/ConnectNetwork. Each incarcerated person gets one free call per week, up to five minutes. Additional paid calls within the North American Dialing Plan cost $0.135 per minute under the current contract. Calls can last up to 30 minutes, with a required 30-minute waiting period between completed calls.
