What you can bring to Franklin C.I.: permitted items, cash limits, and baby supplies
Keep it simple when packing for a visit at Franklin C.I. Here's what you need to know: the small items allowed inside, the exact cash limit for vending machines, baby-supply quantity limits, and a few rules that could get you turned away if you ignore them.
Anyone 16 or older needs one (1) photographic ID to enter. Double-check that it's in your pocket before you leave - no ID, no visit.
You can bring one (1) vehicle key. Got a keyless entry device? It's only allowed if the duty warden (or designee) inspects and approves it first.
Want snacks or drinks from the vending machines? You can bring cash, but Franklin C.I. caps it at $50.00 per visitor - no exceptions, regardless of age.
Bring small bills only. The cash you bring has to be in $1, $5, $10, and $20 denominations.
Reminder: Under no circumstances can money you bring as a visitor be given to an inmate.
Baby Supplies
- ✓ No more than five (5) diapers
- ✓ Up to three (3) clear baby bottles
- ✓ Up to two (2) toddler sipper cups
- ✓ Up to three (3) clear plastic jars of sealed (unopened) baby food
Limited feminine hygiene products are allowed. The policy doesn't specify an exact quantity, so bring only what you'll need during the visit.
Do not bring: Needles or syringes are not allowed in the facility or anywhere on facility grounds under any circumstances.
Pack like you'll carry it all back out. Staff won't hold or store items for you under any circumstances - anything you can't bring inside needs to stay in your vehicle.
