Frederick County Detention Center schedules in-person visits by population: juveniles on Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., females on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and males on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration opens 30 minutes before each session and closes 30 minutes before it ends — arrive early. Each inmate gets one 30-minute visit per week with up to four visitors at a time. Visitors under 18 need an adult with them unless they're the inmate's spouse. Bring valid photo ID and proof of age. Frederick County Detention Center routes all personal mail through the U.S. Postal Service to a mail-processing PO Box. Include a complete, legible return address with the sender's first and last name (or company)—without it, your mail won't be scanned. Envelopes can hold up to 10 pages, and each page must be 8.5" x 11" or smaller. Don't mail magazines, books, packages, cash, personal checks, money orders, or original documents and photos. Originals cannot be returned. A contracted vendor (Pay Tel Communications, Inc.) scans incoming mail within 24 hours, and staff review the scanned images electronically within 48 hours. Mail that appears to contain illegal material, threats, or security concerns may be investigated. Legal mail must be marked "Legal Mail" and gets opened with the inmate present.
