Understanding Frederick County Detention Center's Visitation Schedule and Weekly Limits
Planning a visit to the Frederick County Detention Center? Knowing which day applies to your loved one's housing group — and understanding the weekly limits — makes everything easier. Here's the schedule and key rules you need to know.
In-person visitation at Frederick County Detention Center runs on a set schedule based on detainee group. Juvenile detainees can receive visitors on Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Female detainees visit on Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Male detainees visit on Sundays during the same hours - 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Note: All visits are recorded for security purposes.
Work Release visits work differently. Starting May 1, 2025, all Work Release visits are no-contact and video-only. If you're expecting a standard in-person contact visit, plan accordingly - you won't get one.
Each inmate gets one 30-minute in-person visit per week. Up to four visitors can come at once, so coordinate with family members ahead of time if multiple people want to visit.
Timing matters for check-in. Visitor registration opens 30 minutes before each session starts and closes 30 minutes before it ends. Show up too late and you won't get in.
Photo required: All visitors will have a photo taken prior to visiting. If you refuse to be photographed, you’ll lose your visitation privileges.
