Tip: Before you head out for filing or any clerk-window task, plan around the clerk’s hours (often 8:00 am–4:00 pm), not the building’s public hours.

Need to handle loose ends after a criminal court outcome? The ACTION Center (After Criminal One-Stop Network) is built for exactly that. Services include processing criminal case sentencing orders, Adult Offender Work Program, Adult Theft Diversion, anger management, batterer's treatment, Domestic Violence Review Court, community service, drug testing, DUI classes, electronic monitoring, and fines. Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm. If your plan involves the ACTION Center - especially for something time-sensitive like fines or program enrollment - aim for a morning visit so you're not racing the 4 pm close.

Fresno County Court Hours: When Each Facility Is Open and Why It Matters
  1. Call or plan your visit around clerk-window time - Even when a courthouse is open until 5 pm, clerk’s offices are commonly listed as 8:00 am–4:00 pm (for example, the main Fresno Superior Courthouse and the “M” Street Courthouse).
  2. Arrive early if you need the clerk - If you’re filing or fixing paperwork, give yourself a cushion after the 8 am opening so you’re not stuck close to the 4 pm cutoff.
  3. Use the ACTION Center’s schedule for criminal-case services - The ACTION Center’s posted hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm, so treat it like a clerk window: earlier is better.
  4. For Jail Annex Departments 95 & 96, plan for an 8–4 day - and line up childcare - Departments 95 & 96 are open Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm, and the court strongly encourages childcare arrangements if you have business there.

Tip: If you’re not sure which location (or which set of hours) applies to your situation, verify before you go: Fresno Superior Courthouse General Information is (559) 457-2000 (1100 Van Ness Avenue, Fresno, CA 93724-0002).

Two schedules catch people off guard: the Archives Facility and the Downtown clerk windows. The Archives Facility has limited clerk's office hours - Monday and Wednesday 8:00 am–3:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am–12:00 pm. The Call Center runs Monday–Thursday 8:00 am–3:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am–12:00 pm. Downtown, the clerk's office closes at 4:00 pm, so plan accordingly if you're handling any clerk business there.
