Galveston County Juvenile Detention provides parents or guardians with the child's visitation schedule no later than the second day of detention. For schedule questions, contact the Intake Officer on duty. In-person visits last 30 minutes total and are limited to two visitors, with times assigned by the child's unit between 6:15pm and 7:45pm. Approved visitors must show a valid photo ID—bags, purses, cell phones, and other accessories aren't allowed in visitation. Smoking, eating, and delivering contraband are prohibited. Siblings and other relatives can only visit if the Deputy Director-Detention or Detention Superintendent expressly permits it. Attorneys may visit at any time. For divorced parents, the parent with legal custody has first priority to visit. The other parent's access is at the Intake Officer's discretion—call the facility main line for help.
