How to Schedule Your First Visit at George W. Hill: Step-by-Step Registration Guide

At George W. Hill, approval starts on the inside. The incarcerated person submits a visitor list to their Case Manager, and that list goes through the facility's approval process. Once you're approved, they'll let you know to start the online registration. If you're trying to schedule a visit and nothing seems to be moving, approval probably hasn't been completed on the facility side yet.

How to Schedule Your First Visit at George W. Hill: Step-by-Step Registration Guide
  1. Go to the George W. Hill GTL visitation site - This is where you’ll start the online registration and scheduling process.
  2. Create your login - Set up a username and password so you can access your visitor account.
  3. Enter your visitor information - Fill in the details requested for registration.
  4. Wait for the approval email - You won’t be able to schedule a time slot until you receive the visitor email confirmation.
  5. Log back in to schedule - After the email comes through, sign back into the GTL site with your username and password and choose an available time slot.

Bring ID: You must identify yourself and register when you arrive, and you’ll need a current, valid photo ID (such as a current driver’s license, military/government ID, passport, or other government-issued picture ID).

After you receive your approval email, log back into the GTL site with the username and password you created. You'll see the available time slots for your visit. Not seeing the options you expected? Double-check that you're fully approved and signed into the correct account before trying again.

In-person hours: In-person visitation is offered Monday through Friday from 8:45 am to 10:00 pm, based on the incarcerated person’s housing assignment.

Video hours: Video visitation is offered Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 9:55 pm, based on the incarcerated person’s housing assignment.

Planning a video visit? The approval and registration steps are identical. The incarcerated person still submits their visitor list to their Case Manager, and you still complete the GTL registration and wait for the approval email before picking a time. Once approved, you'll schedule your video visit during video visitation hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 9:55 pm), with availability based on housing assignment.

Bad weather? Call 610-361-3343 to check if visitation is affected.

Quick Checklist

  • Confirm you’ve been approved (approval comes first, before scheduling)
  • Create your GTL username and password and enter your visitor information
  • Watch for the approval email confirmation
  • Log back in and choose an available time slot
  • Plan around in-person hours (Monday–Friday, 8:45 am–10:00 pm, based on housing assignment)
  • Bring a current, valid photo ID for entry

Before you schedule, know the weekly limit. Each incarcerated person gets one visit per week - either video or in-person, not both. Choose the option and time that works best before locking anything in.

Plan your group size ahead of time. Up to three visitors are allowed per visit. Kids under 18 don't need to register, but they still count toward the three-visitor limit and must be accompanied by an adult.

Transportation rule: If you’re driving onto the property, you must have a valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance. Rideshare services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) are not allowed on property.

Masks: Masks aren’t required for visitors, but they’re strongly encouraged.
