How to Add Money to a Loved One's Phone Account at Grant County Jail

Grant County Jail uses HomeWAV for phone and video kiosk calls. Every call needs to be paid for - either through a prepaid HomeWAV account or phone time purchased through commissary. You can fund the account from the outside, or your loved one can add phone time when they place their weekly commissary order.

To fund HomeWAV directly, call 1-844-394-6639 or visit https://app.homewav.com. If you'd rather have your loved one handle it from inside, they can add phone time to their weekly commissary order in $5, $10, or $20 increments.

  1. Choose how you want to add funds - You can add money by phone or online.
  2. Add money by phone - Call 1-844-394-6639 and follow the prompts to fund the HomeWAV account.
  3. Add money online - Go to https://app.homewav.com and add funds there.

Note: Grant County Jail uses HomeWAV as its phone carrier. Kiosk calls require either a HomeWAV prepaid account or phone time purchased through commissary.

Your loved one can also buy phone time through commissary. At Grant County Jail, phone time comes in $5, $10, or $20 increments on the weekly commissary order. This works well if they're already placing an order and want to add calling time at the same time.

Reminder: Phone time from commissary works for both telephone and video kiosk calls.

Calls at Grant County Jail are tied to a PIN. Your loved one gets their telephone and commissary PIN at booking - they'll need it to make calls. Even if you're adding money from the outside, make sure they know their PIN and how to use it.

Keep it private: Your loved one should never share their telephone or commissary PIN with other inmates, and shouldn't leave paperwork with PINs where others can see it.

The jail takes PIN security seriously. Using another inmate's telephone or commissary PIN number and/or telephone account can result in a facility rule violation - and potentially criminal charges. If something seems off with calling activity, the safest move is to stop sharing details and keep PIN information secure.
