Grant Parish Detention Center Dress Code: What to Wear for a Video Visit
Video visits at Grant Parish Detention Center are monitored, and the facility enforces a dress code to keep things respectful and running smoothly.
All visits at Grant Parish Detention Center are conducted through a video monitoring system. Because you're on camera the entire time, the facility enforces a dress code to keep visits respectful and orderly for everyone involved.
That same standard applies to your behavior during the visit. Profanity of any kind is not allowed. If it happens, you can be asked to leave.
If you plan to wear shorts, keep the length conservative. The facility's rule: shorts must be in good taste and can be no higher than just above the knees.
Dresses have similar rules. The hemline cannot be shorter than the natural break of the knee, and that includes any slit or cut, whether in the front or the back.
Reminder: Knee-length rules are often what determines whether you get admitted. If you're unsure, go with something that clearly hits at the knee or longer.
Sunglasses are not allowed at any point during a visit. Leave them in the car or take them off before you check in.
Plan to go in with empty hands. Cell phones, food, and drinks are all prohibited in the visitation room.
Keep the conversation clean. Profanity is not permitted, and using it will get you asked to leave.
Prepare Visit
- ✓ Try your outfit on at home and check the length while standing and sitting so shorts stay no higher than just above the knees
- ✓ If you’re wearing a dress, make sure it is not shorter than the natural break of the knee, including any slit or cut
- ✓ When you’re torn between two options, pick the more conservative (knee-length or longer) choice
Schedule your visit first, then figure out who's coming. Visits must be pre-scheduled with at least 24 hours' notice, and each video monitor is limited to two visitors. Decide ahead of time who will be on the visit.
Visitation days depend on the person's status. Parish offender visits are Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (11:00 a.m. is excluded for lunch). DOC offender visits are Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (11:00 a.m. is excluded for lunch). For scheduling or dress code questions, call 318-627-3724.
