Before Your First In‑Person Visit to Grayson County Jail: What to Bring and What to Leave at Home

Quick Checklist

  • Cell phones
  • Smart watches
  • Any other electronic devices (electronics aren’t allowed in the inmate visitation area)

Reminder: Jail personnel are not allowed to hold your personal items for you. Plan ahead so you can lock everything else in your vehicle before you go in.

Can't make it in person? Or got turned away for something fixable? Video visitation is available. At Grayson County Jail, video visits run daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM (unless the inmate is on visitation restriction). Set up your account through www.jailatm.com.

If you're 16 or older, bring a valid state or government-issued photo ID. A Driver's License, Passport, or Passport Card all work - just make sure it's current. An expired ID will stall check-in.

Visitors 15 or younger still need proof of identity. If the child doesn't have a state or government ID, bring an original or certified copy of their birth certificate.

Dress Behavior

  • Don’t arrive barefoot
  • Avoid anything detention staff may view as provocative or offensive
  • Skip clothing items above the knee
  • Don’t wear pants with holes

How you act matters as much as what you wear. Loud, hostile, obscene, combative, or disruptive behavior will get you removed from the facility. Don't show up under the influence, either. Visitors who appear intoxicated can be denied their visit - and may be detained for violating state law.

Leave your electronics behind. Cell phones, smart watches, and any other electronic devices aren't allowed in the visitation area. If it's electronic, it stays out.

Bring less: Visitors may only bring their ID and keys into the facility, and staff can’t hold personal belongings for you.

Before Your First In‑Person Visit to Grayson County Jail: What to Bring and What to Leave at Home
  1. Step away and reset - If you’re denied entry, don’t argue at the window. Fix what you can (ID, clothing, items in your pockets) and plan to come back when you’re fully within the rules.
  2. Use video visitation instead - Video visits are available daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM unless the inmate is on visitation restriction.
  3. Set up your video account - Create your video visitation account through www.jailatm.com so you’re ready before the next available time slot.

If you need another way to stay in touch while you sort out visitation, inmates at Grayson County Jail use Correct Solutions Group (CSG) inmate phone services. You can set up an account at WWW.CSGPAY.COM using facility code 24102.

  • If you’re 16 or older: bring a valid state or government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport, or Passport Card)
  • If the visitor is 15 or younger and doesn’t have a state/government ID: bring an original or certified copy of the birth certificate

Heads-up: Loud, hostile, or disruptive visitors can be removed, and anyone under the influence can be denied a visit and may be detained.
