Setting Up Phone Calls from Guadalupe County Jail: How to Create a GTL AdvancePay Account
Inmates at Guadalupe County Jail can only place outgoing calls - they can't receive them. Calls are either collect (billed to whoever answers) or prepaid through a GTL AdvancePay account. If you want to avoid surprise charges and keep better track of costs, setting up a prepaid account is the way to go.
The jail won't accept incoming calls for inmates, and staff won't relay messages. If you need to get information to someone inside, use the communication options the facility allows. Calling the jail to pass along a message won't work.
- Set up AdvancePay by phone - Call GTL toll-free at 1-866-230-7761 to create a prepaid account.
- Set up AdvancePay online - You can also create your prepaid account through GTL’s website at www.GTL.Net.
Tip: GTL’s hours for prepaid account setup are Monday–Friday 6am to 10pm CST and Saturday–Sunday 8am to 7pm.
Phone access follows the housing unit's daily schedule. At Guadalupe County Jail, phones are available from 07:00am to 11:00pm, so expect calls during that window.
Each call has a twenty (20) minute time limit. Get to the important stuff first and save longer updates for the next call.
Phone calls are monitored and recorded - assume nothing is private. Stick to family updates and practical matters. Don't say anything you wouldn't want replayed later.
Warning: Any attempt to manipulate the phone system will result in disciplinary action.
