Visiting Your Loved One at Guadalupe County Jail: schedule, time limits, ID, dress code, and special visits
Visiting someone at Guadalupe County Jail goes smoothly when you know the schedule and come prepared. Here's everything you need: current visitation hours, time limits, accepted IDs, dress code requirements, and how special visits work for out-of-town family.
Bring a valid photo ID. Guadalupe County Jail accepts a current state driver's license, License to Carry Handgun, military ID card, or passport.
Leave everything else in your car. You can only bring your ID and keys into the facility.
Visitation days depend on the inmate's last name. Last names starting with A–L visit on Fridays and Sundays. Last names starting with M–Z visit on Saturdays and Mondays. Double-check before you drive over.
Male inmate visitation runs 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. No visits happen during the midday break from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
Female inmate visitation is 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Each inmate can receive two visits per week, 30 minutes each. That's 60 minutes total per week.
Note: A single 60-minute visit is never allowed. If you want the full weekly time, plan on two separate 30-minute visits.
Dress conservatively. The jail prohibits revealing clothing: no tank tops, spaghetti straps, short shirts, short shorts, or see-through attire. When in doubt, go more modest so you don't get turned away at the door.
