Visiting Schedule at Guadalupe County Jail: Alphabet Days, Gender Hours, and the 'Two Visits per Week' Rule
Guadalupe County Jail runs on a set schedule based on two things: the first letter of the inmate's last name and whether they're in male or female custody. Figure out both, and you'll know exactly which day and time slot to show up.
Visiting days depend on the inmate's last name. Last names starting with A through L can receive visitors on Fridays and Sundays. M through Z? Saturdays and Mondays. Double-check this before you go - showing up on the wrong day means you won't get in.
Male visitation runs in two blocks: 08:30–10:30 in the morning and 12:00–16:00 in the afternoon. There's a gap from 10:30–12:00 with no visits allowed. Show up during that break and you'll be waiting until noon.
Female visitation hours are 20:00–22:00 - a completely different window than the male schedule. Make sure you're planning for the right time block.
Schedule quick check: Male visits are 08:30–10:30 and 12:00–16:00 (no visits 10:30–12:00). Female visits are 20:00–22:00.
Each inmate can receive two visits per week, with a total cap of 60 minutes. If multiple family members want to visit, you'll need to coordinate - that 60 minutes has to stretch across everyone.
Each visit is capped at 30 minutes. The jail won't combine your weekly allotment into a single 60-minute session - it has to be split across two separate visits.
- Plan for two separate visits - You can use the full weekly allowance by visiting twice for 30 minutes each (60 minutes total).
- Don’t try to “combine” time - One 60-minute visit isn’t allowed, even though the weekly total is 60 minutes.
- Pick days that match the alphabet schedule - Your two visits still have to fall on the correct days for the inmate’s last-name group.
Attorney visits follow different rules. Lawyers can see their clients 24 hours a day unless there's a facility emergency. These visits aren't tied to the alphabetical schedule or standard visiting hours.
Note: Attorney visits may be delayed during headcount and feeding times: 07:00–08:00, 10:30–11:30, 16:30–17:30, 19:00–20:00, and 03:30–04:30.
