How to Visit Facility
Visiting someone at the Greensboro Detention or High Point Detention facilities requires advance registration and follows a set schedule. Here's how to plan your visit so you don't get turned away.
General visitation at both the Greensboro Detention and High Point Detention facilities runs Tuesday through Friday. Three daily sessions are available: 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., and 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. No visitation happens on Mondays at either facility, including both in-person and remote visits. The facilities also close for holidays, so plan around those closures.
You have two options: in-person or remote. In-person visits are conducted by video using a monitor in a designated area where you're out of view of the inmate. These visits are free. Remote visits happen from your own smart device and come with usage-based fees.
Steps to Follow
- ✓ Register before you try to schedule. You can register online at IWebVisit.com or register in person at either facility.
- ✓ After you register, wait 24 hours before scheduling your first visit.
- ✓ For every visit after that, schedule at least 24 hours in advance.
- Choose your visit type. Pick in-person if you want the free, on-site video visit by monitor, or choose remote if you want to visit from your personal smart device (remote visits incur a usage-based fee).
- Pick an available time Tuesday through Friday. General visitation sessions are 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., and 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
- Plan around closures and limits. Do not plan a Monday visit (no in-person or remote visitation), and do not plan an in-person visit on a holiday.
Note: In-person visitation is closed on holidays. Check the holiday schedule before you go, since observed holidays and closures can vary.
Double-check before you schedule: Confirm current session availability and times, remote-visit fees, and registration rules. Policies can change, so verify before booking.
