How to Create a TDCJ Visitation Scheduler Account (Polunsky visitors)
Before you can schedule a visit at the Polunsky Unit, you need your own TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account. Here's how to create one, verify it, and troubleshoot the most common issues.
TDCJ staff can't create visitor accounts for you - you have to do it yourself. So before you can schedule a visit at Polunsky, you'll need to get your account set up and verified.
- Start the account setup with your email - enter a valid email address when prompted.
- Watch for the registration email - after you submit your email, TDCJ sends you a message with a 7-digit validation code and a link to finish creating the account.
- Open the link from the registration email - it takes you back into the scheduler to continue.
- Validate your email - re-enter your email address and enter the 7-digit validation code from the email.
- Create your password - set a password and confirm it.
- Complete the Background Questionnaire - after you submit a valid password, the Background Questionnaire screen comes up. Answer every question so you can move forward.
Note: You can’t continue account creation until every question in the Background Questionnaire is answered.
Pay close attention to the phone number field when filling out your visitor profile. The scheduler requires the format XXX XXX XXXX - spaces only, no dashes. For example: 936 555 1234.
Warning: Choose your email carefully. Once an account is created for an email address, the account can’t be deleted and the email address on the account can’t be changed.
Forgot your password? Use the Forgot Password/Reset Password option on the login screen. Enter the email address tied to your account, click the link, and TDCJ will email you reset instructions.
To add an inmate to your visitation profile, search using their TDCJ number or SID number. The system expects exactly 8 digits - double-check you didn't miss one or add an extra before submitting.
Troubleshooting
- ✓ Your validation email never shows up - re-check that you entered a valid email address correctly, since the 7-digit validation code and registration link only go to the email you submitted.
- ✓ Your phone number won’t save - enter it as XXX XXX XXXX with spaces and no dashes.
- ✓ You can’t get past the questionnaire - make sure every Background Questionnaire question is answered before trying to continue.
