Three Ways to Put Money on an Inmate's Account at Gwinnett County Jail

Inmates at Gwinnett County Jail can't keep cash on them. Any money found gets collected and deposited into an account credited to that inmate. This account is where all their funds are stored and tracked during their time in custody.

For many families, the fastest option is to deposit money online through JailATM.com. Gwinnett County Jail allows friends and family to use a debit card or credit card on JailATM.com to add funds to an inmate’s account. This method includes a service fee, so expect the total to be more than the amount you’re trying to deposit.

Prefer to pay in person? There's a Smart Deposit Kiosk in the jail lobby. You can use cash, debit, or credit to add funds. The kiosk also charges a fee, so factor that in when choosing between in-person and online deposits.

Don't want to use a card? You can mail a money order instead. Gwinnett County Jail only accepts U.S. Postal Service money orders and Western Union money orders for mailed deposits.

  • Write the inmate’s name and ID number on the money order.
  • Address the envelope to the jail and write “For Deposit Only” on the envelope.

If you have questions about inmate accounts or deposits, contact the Inmate Accounts Unit at (770) 619-6602 or email GCSOInmateAccounts@GwinnettCounty.com.
