How to Send Money to Someone in a Florida Prison Using a JPay Money Order
Sending money by mail is straightforward once you know the exact steps. Here are the specific details to make sure your money order reaches the right person without delays.
On the "Pay to" line, make the money order payable to JPay. If the payee is written any other way, it can slow down processing or get the deposit rejected entirely.
On the "memo" or "used for" line, write the incarcerated person's full name and ID. In Florida, that ID is called the DC Number. It's six characters long: either all numbers, or one letter followed by five numbers. Including both the name and DC Number clearly helps make sure the funds land in the right account.
- Put the money order and deposit slip together: Place both items in the same envelope.
- Mail it to the correct JPay address: Address the envelope to JPay, PO Box 260010, Hollywood, FL 33026.
Note: The deposit form recommends using a US Postal Service (USPS) money order.
You must be on your loved one's Approved Visitors List to send money by money order. If you're not approved, the deposit can be rejected even if everything else is filled out correctly.
