How to Visit Facility
Visiting at Hamiliton Work Camp comes down to timing and having the right ID. Check the hours below and plan around the entry-processing cutoff so you don't get turned away at the door.
ID required (age 16+): If you are 16 or older, you must bring a valid picture ID to enter the visiting area.
Weekday visiting hours run from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Central), but entry processing doesn't begin until 8:15 AM. On the other end, no visitors are processed after 2:00 PM. If you show up close to that cutoff, you risk not getting checked in at all.
Normal visiting hours on Saturdays and Sundays are 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Bring a valid picture ID (if you’re 16 or older). You will need it to enter the visiting area.
- Arrive after entry processing starts. Visitor entry processing begins at 8:15 AM.
- Get there well before the cutoff. No visitor is processed after 2:00 PM, so plan to be in line and checking in earlier than that.
- ✓ If you’re visiting on a weekend, plan around normal hours: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- ✓ If you’re visiting on a weekday, plan around normal hours: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Central).
Before you make the trip, confirm how the "no processing after 2:00 PM" rule applies on your visit day. Weekend hours run until 3:00 PM, but that processing cutoff can shrink your actual arrival window if you haven't already been checked in.
Confirm which forms of picture ID are accepted for visitors age 16 and up, especially if you're bringing a newer ID, an out-of-state ID, or anything other than a standard driver's license. Visiting with someone under 16? Ask about the check-in expectations for minors before you go.
