Visiting with Children at Harford County Detention Center: Rules and Tips

Harford County Detention Center holds inmate visitation on weekends: Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Two limits hit families right away: inmates get one visit per week, and only two visitors can enter at a time. Children count toward that two-person cap. So if you're bringing one child, only one other person can join you for that visit.

Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. If you're the one bringing a child, you'll need to stay with them and manage their behavior throughout the visit.

Tip for visits with kids: You’re responsible for keeping children under control during the visit, and Harford County Detention Center requires children to remain seated at all times.

Children must remain seated during the entire visit. For younger kids, set expectations before you arrive. A small book or quiet activity can help keep them occupied while you talk.
