Setting Up Video Visits from Home for Harris County Jail Families (Securus)
Want to set up a remote video visit with someone at Harris County Jail? First, confirm where they're housed—only certain inmates qualify. Once you know they're eligible, getting started with Securus on a computer with a webcam is straightforward.
Remote video visits from home are only available for inmates at the 700 N. San Jacinto building (JPC). If your loved one is housed at a different Harris County Jail location, the at-home video option through Securus won't appear for their housing assignment.
Remote video visit hours depend on the day. Monday through Friday, you can connect from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Weekends offer a longer window: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
Each off-site video visit costs $5.99 for a 20-minute session.
- Log in to Securus Online - go to https://securustech.online and click SIGN IN to access your account.
- Find your scheduled visit - open MANAGE ACCOUNT, then click MY FUTURE SESSIONS to see upcoming sessions.
- Review the visit details - confirm you’re looking at the correct upcoming visit before you start.
- Start the visit from the Action column - click the icon under the ACTION column for that scheduled visit to begin.
The JOIN icon won't show up until one minute before your scheduled visit - so don't panic if you don't see it early.
Note: After clicking JOIN, expect 30–45 seconds before the video actually connects. Need help? During official visitation hours, call Securus at 1-800-844-6591. After hours, use 346-286-1480.
