When and Where the Harrison County Bail Bond Board Meets (and how to find posted notices)
Tracking a Bail Bond Board meeting in Harrison County? Whether you're a family member following up on a bondsman issue or filing paperwork yourself, you need two things: the meeting date and the posted notice. Here's how the schedule works, where meetings happen, and where to find official postings.
The Harrison County Bail Bond Board meets on the third Thursday of each month. When that Thursday falls on an official holiday, the meeting shifts to the first business day after. The Chair can also call additional meetings outside the regular schedule, so don't assume monthly is the only option.
Tip: Holidays near the third Thursday can shift the date. Double-check the posted notice before you go. Also watch for Chair-called meetings that fall outside the usual monthly pattern.
Meetings are held on the 4th floor of the Harrison County Courthouse at 200 West Houston Street in Marshall, Texas. Plan on that location as your default.
The Board can meet elsewhere if a notice says so. Before making the trip, check the posted notices to confirm the location for that specific meeting.
Official notices go up on the bulletin boards in the first-floor lobby, near the southeast public entrance of the Harrison County Courthouse. That's where you'll find Board meeting postings.
- ✓ Check the bulletin boards in the courthouse lobby nearest the southeast public entrance on the first floor
- ✓ Confirm the meeting date (especially if the third Thursday is an official holiday)
- ✓ Verify the meeting location listed on the notice in case it’s different from the usual 4th-floor courthouse location
Note: Because the meeting location can change by posted notice, it’s smart to check the bulletin board close to the day you plan to attend.
The Board needs a quorum to conduct business. For the Harrison County Bail Bond Board, that means four members.
Decisions don't require unanimity. Board action passes with a majority vote of the members present at that meeting.
Why this matters: If fewer than four members attend, the Board can’t conduct business - and when a vote happens, the outcome depends on a majority of the members who are there that day.
Meeting timing is critical for applications. Bondsman license applications must be filed at least 10 working days before the meeting where you want consideration - and that count excludes both the filing day and the meeting day itself.
- Pick the meeting you’re aiming for - start with the third Thursday of the month, and remember it moves to the first business day after if that Thursday is an official holiday.
- Count back 10 working days - don’t count the day you file and don’t count the meeting day.
- File by that deadline - filing at least 10 working days ahead is what lines your application up for consideration at that meeting.
Heads up: Miss the 10-working-day window and your application won't make that meeting's agenda. You'll be waiting for the next one.
